Preppy white kids hated me, Rednecks hated me, etc. I was outcasted from white crowds in highschool. I haven’t seen a single black person even though I’m no longer repulsed at the idea of being friends with people who look like me now. I just recently learned to accept myself, but I live in a city that is majority white and the only other minorities I have seen in the year living there are Indians and aboriginals. It took me a long time to learn to hate the stereotype, but love myself and my origins. I wanted a nose job to get rid of my ethnic nose, I wanted a lip reduction to get rid of my bigger lips (looks like they’re trendy now tho lol) and I wanted a breast and butt reduction because I just wanted to look nothing like black people did. I do remember there being a time where I absolutely wanted to bleach my skin, and I remember wanting my hair always straight and hating my curly hair. I don’t hate being black and I don’t hate my culture anymore, in fact I do love being black, I just hate the stereotypical people who make life shitty for me. I felt like such an outcast in my own culture growing up I actually hated being black, and I promised myself I would never date anyone black because I hate being black and don’t want black kids. Other black girls told me I was too white-washed, and called me a nerd. Black guys told me that black girls were ugly, fat, and always have a shitty attitude. I didn’t want to be a teen mom, and I didn’t like being dumb or talking with tons of slang. I was “too smart” and not “ghetto” enough. I don’t fit in with my own black family, and I never fit in with the other black kids at my schools growing up. Race, Religion, LGBTQ, Meta, Politics, Parenting/Family issues.
